**Affordable Eyeglasses at your fingertips**

Speaking of the largest and most affordable collection of prescriptive frames online, I have to agree with The Clark Howard Show’s recommendation on Zenni Optical. As I was browsing through Zenni Optical’s site I was pleasantly surprised to see the number of selection available just to meet all your needs. Whether you like them full rim or half rim, aluminum or titanium, the choices available are simply more than sufficient. There’s for sure a category that will meet your needs. As I browse through the site, I was tempted to get a pair of eyeglasses for myself. Although I have a mild short sightedness, it never prompted me to get a pair prescribed all these while. Call me choosy but I simply do not know what I want. I prefer to have rimless frame but everyone says I look better with the ones with rims. Naturally I was split. I do not want to spend hundreds of dollars and regret later at my own decision. Browsing along the site I just couldn’t believe how affordable these frames are. With the amount I would have paid, I could actually purchase two frames from the site. I was elated. Now I don’t have to be split whether I should get the ones with rims or without. On of my favourite eyeglasses has to be this:

It makes me sad.....

It really saddened and scares me each time I read the coverage of the recently uncovered milk scandal in China. Additional products are added to the recall list each day, for being suspected of melamine contamination; a chemical normally found in plastics.

What kind of human being, what the heck they were thinking in their mind, what a selfless immoral act these people display? All in the name of M-O-N-E-Y? Didn't they get tiny wit bit worried that their own flesh and blood would be affected and suffer in consequences of their wrong doing? WTH, if they had, I won't be writing this entry now.

Affected products on the recall list in Singapore:

Dutchlady sterilised milk
Wall's all natural mango ice cream
Mini poppers ice cream
Magmum ice cream
Moo sandwich ice cream
Mini cornetto
Youcan icecream
White Rabbit Creamy Candy
Snickers bars
M&M's
Nabisco Chicken in a Biskit
Dove Chocolate Bars
Mentos Yogurt Balls
Oreo Wafer Sticks, Want Want Take One Baby Bites
Dutch Lady Strawberry Flavoured Milk
Yili Choice Dairy Fruit Bar Yogurt

I am pressing the paranoid button. I really don't care. With 4 dead, 12,892 warded for kidney problems, I am taking no chances. I threw away my packets of M&M's, Walls ice cream (though the flavour I bought is not listed) and packs of Oreos. I really do not wish to get myself and my family esposed to such a risk. Luckily my boy is consuming soy based milk and it's definitely not from China, but I'll still be cautious to find out the latest update.

The few involved parties are now finger pointing at each other. All the public apologies, bowing, what not, are kinda meaningless now right? Where's QC at the first place? Really. I don't care, you can beg, you can show your sorry face, you kowtow until you bleed, whatever. It's too late. The last I read, a few arrests have been made. I wish to see justice on these people. My wish for them to be SEVERELY PUNISHED for their inhuman act. Yes.. their wealth grow but they lost their conscience. Shame on them!

Good Life Sotong!!!

I never considered myself a good employer but at least in the last 1 year she is with us I had never hurled any abuse, neither in verbal or physical on her. When she complained of giddyness last few days, I even gave her money to see the private doctor (cost me $35). She came back with all normal report and some vitamins. Funny thing was she said the doc said her giddyness was due to her not sleeping well enough at night cos she said she always wake up middle of the night for no reason. Duh! She can go to bed around 9pm plus when I tuck Ryan in bed. It's not my problem that you chose to sleep around 11pm. And yet, you wake up around 6am ++ , much more sleep than her employer (ME) gets. That is on top of the rest time she gets when Ryan naps. Hubs said she didn't sleep well at night because she slept too much. I think it's possibly true.

Occassionally of course she will get slapped with my sarcastic remarks but that's about it. I thought treating her as part of my family would make her less homesick and she would at least do her work whole heartedly. Admittedly most of the times she is a handy hand around the house, she dotes on Ryan (at least from what I could feel and see) and a pretty good cook too. Unfortunately nobody's perfect. At times she simply drives me up the wall for making the most trivial yet damaging mistake!

This morning she came to me at the living when Ryan and I were enjoying our daily dose of Wonderpets and Dora on Nickelodeon. She was holding this tee on her hand. I knew something must be wrong cos she looked 'san yau si' (at fault)

We bought this tee from the Thomas & Friends Live on Stage show last Sunday

then I saw this......

The pictures alone can't do justice to the damage on the tee. There were stains, stains and more stains all over! I was really fuming. Super bengang! She said she was ironing the clothes when she saw the marks. She has the cheek to ask me if these are part of the design. OK don't blame her. Kampong mari but I was literally biting my lips so I don't call her 'stuuuuuuupid'. That tee cost me $20, although it's not really a lot of money but it's limited edition and it's a memorable item of the show we watched.

She mumbled some words that she will try use this or that to wash. I really cannot make out what she said. I just shoved the tee back to her and said 'Just do whatever you can'.

Sigh.... 'kek sum'. There goes.. brand new, never been worn some more. sobss.

New Template

I came across this site that offers free blogspot template while reading Barbara's blog. I figured it has been awhile since I change my background template so the choices of beautiful free templates really set me going. So voila... my blog and its new 'baju'. Hope it doesn't take too long to load on your end. :D

Buaya Advertisements

I once fell into one of those 'buaya' ads. No no.. not loan sharks. It was a free facial treatment for first 100 customers bla bla by N** Y**k Skin Solution.

I was one of the 'lucky' winners - or unlucky I really don't know.

During the first one hour I was there, we went through this skin analysis procedure. Scanned here and there. According to her my skin condition wasn't too bad and I would probably just need about 10 - 15 treatments to achieve flawless glowing skin. **At the back of my mind I thought how could a "not bad" condition still need so many treatments????. Okay.. nvm...cont to listen**

The consultant continued her selling and recommended a collagen face treatment for me. I told her I am more concern with my eye area. But she ga-ga want me to try out this best selling treatment. I knew if I agree to the trial, I'll have to go through more grueling marketing after the session, but if I don't she won't let me off so easily either right. So the evil side of me took over at that point. What the heck, I thought. Let's do it.

1.5 hours later I came out with more glowing skin - so said the consultant. Frankly I don't see much difference. Probably a bit - on the eyebrows. Kekeke.. and that's because she trimmed it. :P

So there goes.. after about another hour of marketing by the consultant, I was pretty fed-up and mentally exhausted. Padan muka I know. Anyway.. I listened and listened... and finally she took out a calculator and started pressing some magic numbers. I almost fell off my chair when she showed me the amount. Trying hard not to scream.

SGD5600!!!

That's like more than RM13,000! I never felt so awake! Crazy right! That would cost me two LV bags. No No.. not that a bag is more important than my face but hello... RM13k!!! Supposedly heavily discounted from the original price of SGD6750.

I am actually an impulse buyer and I am one who can easily fall into such booby traps but this time round, I kept my vigility. I mean, I was actually very sincere to take up a package but that price scare the sh*t out of me. Thank goodness I'm now a cheapskate full time HOUSEWIFE.

Phew!

** In case you're wondering, in the end I did sign up another different package at a much smaller fraction of the amount they quoted me. Give face la...

Speaking of which, I also 'WON' a free full body slimming trial at London Weight Management. Negk ngek.. I better not torture myself with more grilling.....

Morale of the story.... THERE IS NO FREE LUNCH. Better rajin rajin clock more hours at the gym.

Dem bad luck!

Gawd.. I knew I have not been updating this blog but what I did not know was the last post was almost 3 months ago. *pooooh - pooohh* blowing off spider web......

It's such an unfortunate that this 'returning post' has to be on something so unfortunate, unhappy, unmemorable. I bought this necklace back in February. Barely half a year and now it's G-O-N-E. Yes yes.. gone for good. Out of sight forever ever.

Sigh.. I have no recollection when was the last time I saw it hanging on my neck. My boss (you know who la) shed no pity on me. Instead said "padan muka" because I was careless and that the necklace itself was too flimsy at the first place. Eh.. my fault ka? Okay.. now I know who's gonna sponsor my next buy *evil eyes*

...and I have this one and only blurred picture to remember it by...............shiaks!

I passed, I passed....

We signed up for the Basic Theory Test back in February and only yesterday we were able to be sloted in for our tests. Foreigners could use their existing license for 12 months, after which it is a requirement for us to pass the the test (aka Undang JalanRaya in Malaysia) in order to drive in Singapore.

The test wasn't too difficult but definitely trickier. Sssh.. I seriously believe I would fail the first attempt. I mean, memory failing aside, I have a decade old of 'malaysia boleh' driving habits as excess baggage, it was not easy to remember the basics all over again.
Anyways, we, both hubs and I, passed. Phew. So mentally torturing in the last few months that I have this test to sit. I'm very phobia of tests and the mentally torturing what if I fail and not being able to drive around until I pass. Iyerr....

Anyway, if you're curious and wants to find out how tricky the test questions are, you can check out here. Click on basic user and try 10 questions to gauge how you may fair?Hehe.. saja la...

*wink*

On a blog break

Just realised it's almost a month since my last entry. That's exactly how long I've lost my puff to blog about anything except him. Guess that's the flip side of blogging, sometimes you have the mjoyo to blog several entries a day, sometimes you lost it.

Well, till I find my myojo back, I'll be on a blog break. Meanwhile, feel free to hop over my little boss' blog anytime. :D
